E The Artist

BLACKBOYSBLUSH*

As part of our Culture Night 2022 programme, E The Artist will present BLACKBOYSBLUSH*

BLACKBOYSBLUSH* is a three part visual, performance & sound project curated by E The Artist (Daranijoh Sanni) in collaboration with Alice Rekab’s multinational FAMILY LINES Project, which is currently being displayed in The Douglas Hyde.

BLACKBOYSBLUSH*’s aim is to both document and explore the current state of the Biracial & BIPOC experiences in Ireland’s contemporary cultural & social landscapes respectively.

The performance itself, taking place in the main gallery space of The Douglas Hyde, will consist of E teaming up with DJ Lychee to blend sounds from African & Asian dance scenes to exhibit the common ground & differences they share.

This will be followed by performances from Asian-American Digital Hardcore artist Julia Louise Knifefist, Nigerian-Irish RnB Artist SEMI & Sierra Leonean-Irish Hip Hop Artist Ahmed, With Love.

Alongside the performance, there will also be a BLACKBOYSBLUSH* publication celebrating Black-Irish Independent Creatives & Posters commemorating the project available to purchase at the gallery’s bookshop with proceeds going to MASI.

Booking required. This event is fully booked
