Joanna Walsh is a multidisciplinary writer working with text across print, digital, visual art, performance and social practice. The author of eleven books (several co-written with AI, which she coded), her publishers include Semiotext(e), Bloomsbury and Verso. She was the 2020 Markievicz awardee for literature. She has also been awarded the 2018 Anthony Burgess Centenary Fellowship at the University of Manchester, the 2017 UK Arts Foundation fellowship for literature, and several bursaries and grants from the Irish and UK Arts Councils. She is currently a MSCA Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Maynooth. She is an editor, and arts activist, founding and running #readwomen (2014-18), described by the New York Times as ‘a rallying cry for equal treatment for women writers’. She founded and currently runs @noentry_arts, challenging age barriers on arts awards and opportunities. Her website is joannawalsh.ie.

The Response Series generates collaborations between experts, researchers, and artists not only across disciplines but also across methodologies and approaches to research and practice, with a view to creating new experiences and forms of knowledge.
