In Grandland, people are classified into ideological groups, rather than geographical nations or religions. Here we see some flags belonging to individual members of The Wandering tribe. These people are solitary creatures, inward looking and directionless. Moving at a snail’s pace they roam the earth searching and yearning, though they are not quite sure what for. Other than this, they have no ambition, and do not believe in fighting for any cause. They do not believe in anything at all, often even doubting thier own existence. All of Grandland’s inhabitants’ movements are watched and tracked, thier patterns of behaviour recorded. This data is then in turn used to categorise them. Although there are many belonging to The Wandering tribe in Grandland’s society, they are completely unaware of each other.

Sinéad Kennedy is a visual artist, designer, and musician based in Dublin. Graduating from the Fashion department in the National College of Art & Design (NCAD) in 2013, her degree show was the recipient of the Talbot Gallery’s Most Promising Graduate Award. Since graduating she has exhibited in the Douglas Hyde Gallery 3, Pallas Projects, Catalyst Arts Centre, and Brown Thomas, Co Dublin. Residencies include Aras Eanna (Inis Oírr), Listhus (Iceland) and Talbot Gallery and Studios (Dublin). Her work has been awarded the NCAD Staff Prize, the Persil Irish Fashion Award, and Best Design Tiger Dublin Fringe Festival 2015. Sinead plays traditional Irish music on the fiddle, and has a particular interest in the tunes, songs, dances and stories from the South West region of Donegal. She is also a singer and accompanies her songs on the bouzouki. She has performed at various concerts and festivals including Cairdeas Na bhFidiléirí (Donegal), Arts and Rafts (Sligo), and Electric Picnic (Laois), and has been a resident session musician in the Cobblestone Pub (Dublin) for the past six years. She recently completed an MA in Creative Digital Media in TU Dublin working with music in Augmented Reality.
