Student Forum 2025:
Open Forum
The Douglas Hyde is delighted to present our fourth Open Forum. Hosted and delivered by the 2025 Student Forum Group, Open Forum is an initiative that aims to create a space where ideas can be shared in response to the gallery’s programme.
The Student Forum has developed a series of responses to current exhibition by Yuyan Wang. After meeting the artist and engaging with the themes within this exhibition, the group focused on this idea of digital harvesting, drawing on the ways that Wang collates found footage to create a succinct visual narrative through her films.
This event will centre around an interactive image-based work, encouraging participation whilst also responding to Wang’s work. A workbook created by the Student Forum will be given to audience members to prompt personal responses followed by an informal discussion.
The Open Forum is free to attend, and everyone is welcome, but booking is required. If you wish to attend, please use the link on this page.
Yuyan Wang’s exhibition #16161D runs until Sunday 25th May 2025. For more information click here.
