As part of our Response Series The Douglas Hyde is delighted to announce a Writer’s Response where Curator and Writer Diana Bamimeke will respond to the work of Éireann and I and their current exhibition in Gallery 2 as part of The Artist’s Eye programme.
Diana Bamimeke is an independent curator, art-writer and maker from west Dublin interested in curating & producing socially engaged art, with a focus on community engagements and criticality. In 2021, they guest curated On Belonging, a collaborative group exhibition, supported by Basic Space Dublin, the Library Project, and the Arts Council. Their writing has featured in publications by Origins Eile, the VAI News Sheet, the RHA, Temple Bar Gallery + Studios and TU Dublin. They are currently the 2021/22 Curator-in-Residence at Museum of Everyone (MoE), an Offaly-based arts & curatorial platform.
The Response Series generates collaborations between experts, researchers, and artists not only across disciplines but also across methodologies and approaches to research and practice, with a view to creating new experiences and forms of knowledge.
