Exhibition Tour with Sara Muthi

Student Forum Tour

Sara Muthi will lead a special lunchtime tour of spending static to save gas by Gabriel Kuri.

Taking the notion of ‘futility’ as a point of departure this tour explores ‘fruitless struggle’ in which the labour exerted may not match its weight in profit. This seemingly unworthy effort is explored through concepts of absurdity à la Albert Camus and his The Myth of Sisyphus. Thinking through Kuri’s logic of everyday objects this tour attempts to lean into the artists pursuit of maintenance as creation; reconsidering materiality and the gallery space towards reiteration, repurposing and re-organisation.
