Deirdre Murphy
A Body of Noise
In this movement- and sound-based workshop, writer, composer and choreographer Deirdre Murphy will explore one of the key systems of our species: community. It will be a radical look at the contexts in which we have meaningful interaction. Participants will tune in with their bodies, voices and the room through a series of task-based exercises. There will be humming and singing, spontaneous ritual, partner work, and an exploration of interacting outside of social norms – creating a physical laboratory to redefine social relations. Please wear clothing which is comfortable to move in. If you have a yoga mat, please bring it.
No experience is necessary – this workshop is open to all and will appeal particularly to those with an interest in physical and sound-based practices as a route to expanding the horizons of social relations.
