Displacement and hauntings in Arabic literature
with Rita Sakr
Wednesday 9 July, 6.30pm
In association with Mohammed Sami’s exhibition join us for an evening talk with Rita Sakr, Associate Professor in Postcolonial and Global Literatures at Maynooth University.
Like Mohammed Sami’s works that are in conversation with Arabic literature, this talk will explore a polymorphous literary geography with particular focus on the ways in which contemporary Arab prose mediates ‘displacement’ not only in relation to material contexts of war, siege, and border-crossing.
Please find a reading list of material referenced, compiled by Rita Sakr, here.
