An Artistic Eye
The Douglas Hyde Gallery is delighted to take part in Cruinniú na nÓg, a day of free creativity for children and young people, taking place this year on Saturday 13 June, 2020.
How do you become an artist?
What’s the best thing about being an artist?
What do you do all day?
In this series of videos, these questions and more are asked of visual artists Bassam Al-Sabah, Sibyl Montague, Áine McBride, Isabel Nolan, Garrett Phelan, and Marcel Vidal.
Working across drawing, sculpture, painting, photography, film, installation, and radio, each of the artists will share their unique take on how, and when, they decided to become an artist, how their work has developed, what being an artist means to them, and the things that they are excited about.
